The Lookout Tower

The Lookout Tower stands proudly on top of Beer Head cliffs giving unrivalled views of the stunning coast to the south and beautiful green farmland to the north. Secluded, Hooken beach, is just a short 10-minute trek away through a SSSI (Site of Specific, Scientific Interest). Whether its to unwind and relax with your partner or family and friends or as a company retreat to impress a client or reward and inspiration for members of the team, this is a perfect place to stay. The Lookout Tower is pet free.

Ground floor
There are two bedrooms in the property. One room with a king size double bed the other with a twin that can be zipped together. The spacious wet room is also located here on the ground floor.

First floor
The Kitchen is fully equipped with matching Neff appliances and a Quooker tap that offers instant boiling water, chilled filtered water and carbonated spring water at a turn to make any culinary work on holiday less laborious.

Second floor
Reminiscent of the top of a light house the panoramic views, on a clear day, from the lounge are simply spellbinding. Many of the sunrises and sunsets are immense.

Outside
You will find ample parking with complimentary EV charging point.The private garden is landscaped with a Devon slate stone wall, patio with BBQ, plenty of lawn for the children, and outside storage.

Sauna
Take the inside out. Step outside, head to the sauna and cool down in the outdoor shower, with panoramic views over Lyme Bay.

Location
Located on the south west coast path, The Lookout Tower sites on top of Beer Head. Hooken beach, is just a short 10-minute trek away. The beaches of Branscombe & Beer are also just a short walk.

In Branscombe, you’ll find The Masons Arms and The Fountain Head, both traditional country pubs and The Sea Shanty, a day cafe. Beer is a traditional fishing village, where you’ll find restaurants, shops and pubs.

History
Records have been found of an 18th century signal station located on Beer Head. The location has been inhabited since the late 1700’s as an early warning signal station built for the Napoleonic war, as a station to combat smuggling in the nineteenth century and as a coastguard lookout in the twentieth century.

Location

Upon arriving at Common Lane, follow the lane up past Beer Head Caravan Park, on your left. You will come to a V in the road, stay left, and you’ll see a sign ‘The Lookout Tower 750m’. Go across the cattle grid and head into the first field across the gravel track. At the end of the first field, you will come across a second cattle grid. Go across this cattle grid and head into the second field. Stay on the gravel track, bear right and as you drive up the track you’ll see The Lookout Tower.

When you arrive at the gate, just swing the gate open and park. Please close the gate as you come through. You are holidaying in a remote rural location on a working farm, there will be sheep and cows roaming around, the track out to the cliff is rough.
